Robin van Thillo wins his greatest victory at the Touquet Classic 2026

Belgian rider Robin van Thillo achieved the biggest victory of his career this afternoon at the CSI 3* Grand Prix of Le Touquet Classic, organized by the teams

Belgian rider Robin van Thillo achieved the biggest victory of his career this afternoon in the Grand Prix of the CSI 3* Le Touquet Classic, organized by the GRANDPRIX Events team. In this 1,55m class, he and his horse My Jewel's Magic Touch triumphed over Nina Mallevaey, who finished a brilliant second aboard her excellent Destine To Be. Irishman Tom Wachman, riding Do It Easy, completed the top three. After winning the Grand Prix of the CSI 3* Le Touquet Classic a year ago, Nina Mallevaey, from northern France, came close to a repeat victory today. Indeed, in the main event of the superb CSI 3* organized by the GRANDPRIX Events team, the rider from northern France and her brilliant Destine To Be ultimately had to concede defeat to Belgian rider Robin van Thillo, who delivered a superb jump-off with My Jewel's Magic Touch. This pair had already finished sixth in the Grand Prix of the CSI 3* Compiègne Classic. “I am very happy with this victory,” explained Robin van Thillo. “My Jewel's is a very good horse and was previously ridden by Rodrigo Pessoa, who was very fond of him. In the jump-off, I gave it my all and told myself it was all or nothing. In the end, we won!” Of the sixty pairs starting in this 1,55m competition, which counted towards the Longines World Ranking for riders, no fewer than eighteen cleared every rail to secure a place in the jump-off. From the very start of the competition, the large crowd that turned out on Sunday despite the gloomy weather understood that, even though nearly a third of the riders went clear, they would have to dig deep to have any chance of performing well on the course of thirteen obstacles and sixteen efforts designed by the excellent Cédric Longis. It should be noted that all the obstacles, set at 1,55m, proved challenging. Furthermore, the allotted time of seventy-six seconds caught out some competitors, such as the French riders Thibaut Jouanneteau, riding Accroche Toi, who incurred one penalty point, as well as Robinson Maupiler and Alexis Deroubaix, riding Karan-K van't Kattenheye and the promising Hasta La Vista DK, who both conceded eight penalty points.

Anastasia Popovici makes La Marseillaise ring out in the Devoucoux Derby

On Saturday afternoon, May 9th, French rider Anastasia Popovici won the Derby, competing for Devoucoux. She was partnered with Acumano.

On Saturday afternoon, May 9th, French rider Anastasia Popovici won the Derby, competing under the Devoucoux banner. Riding Acumano van de Eikhoeve, she posted one of only three clear rounds in the competition, finishing in 135.99 seconds. Her compatriot Xavier Hazebroucq, who incurred two faults but benefited from the C-table rule, which converts penalty times into seconds added to the time, finished second. Riding Pertini van de Axelhoev, he completed the course in 136.40 seconds. Great Britain's Beth Vernon rounded out the podium with a time of 137.15 seconds aboard Scutters. “It was the first time Acumano and I had participated in this type of event, so I was a little apprehensive about whether he would follow my plan or not,” explained the winner before continuing: “My horse responded enthusiastically and really played along. This type of event involves fairly long courses, and the most difficult thing for me was remembering the entire route!”

Dada Challenge Tour: Springtime for amateurs on the GRANDPRIX tracks

A new addition to the amateur season, the Dada Challenge Tour is set to bring GRANDPRIX Events tracks to life throughout spring 2026. Three stages, one common thread.

A new addition to the amateur season, the Dada Challenge Tour is set to enliven the GRANDPRIX Events arenas throughout spring 2026. Three stages, one common goal: to secure one of the three coveted wildcards for the CSI 1* Chantilly Classic presented by Al Shira'aa, from July 9th to 12th, 2026, and leave with an exclusive Dada Sport prize package. The competition kicks off on the sand of Le Touquet Classic, from May 7th to 10th. Amateur riders will start earning points there, before returning to the Normandy coast for Cabourg Classic, from May 28th to 31st, for a second leg known for its speed and potential for comebacks. The final standings will be decided at Fontainebleau Classic, from June 25th to 28th, where the last stage will award the majority of remaining points and where the Amateur Grand Prix will serve as the tiebreaker in case of a tie. At the end of the Tour, the three highest-ranked riders will join the mythical lawn of Chantilly, under the colors of Dada Sport, to tread a track usually reserved for the international elite.

World stars at Le Touquet Classic 2026!

The high level was at the forefront this year at the Touquet Classic, with the presence of major figures in world show jumping. Ben Maher (GBR), world number 2 and triple

The application phase for participation in the third edition of the Touquet Classic has just closed. GRANDPRIX Events has received several hundred requests for CSI 3*, 1*, Amateur and Young Horse competitions. Regarding the 3* label, eight of the top one hundred riders in the Longines world ranking are among the candidates for this event, in the heart of a European spring packed with international events. From Thursday 7 to Sunday 10 May, the Opal Coast will have the honor of hosting the world's best rider, Nina Mallevaey. This year, the twenty-six-year-old from the North has firmly established herself in the top ten of the world rankings. Victorious last year in the Rolex Grand Prix of the Stephex Masters in Brussels, crowned French Pro Elite champion, second in the Rolex Grand Prix of Rome among many other rankings obtained at 1,60m, she is also the title holder of the 3* Grand Prix of the City of Touquet-Paris-Plage, which she won last year riding My Clementine. The Lille native had experienced a highly emotional awards ceremony, reaffirming her attachment to her native land and to her loved ones, who came in large numbers for the occasion. Without a doubt, she will be formidable on Sunday, May 10, with a team now well-versed in CSI 5* competitions, including Nikka van den Bisschop, Dynastie de Beaufour, My Clementine and Destine To Be. Other big names will stand in his way, Karl Cook chief among them. Ranked eighteenth in the world, and a team silver medalist at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games with Caracole de la Roque, the American has once again chosen Le Touquet to launch his European tour. Cian O'Connor will follow him closely. Ranked 22nd in the world, and an individual Olympic bronze medalist in London in 2012, the Irishman has remained one of the most consistent figures in the world's top thirty for over 20 years. Daniel Deusser will also be joining this lineup of excellence. Ranked twenty-fourth in the world, winner of the Longines World Cup final in 2014 in Lyon with Cornet d'Amour, the German, based at the Stephex stables in Belgium, has been among the most reliable figures in the world elite for almost twenty years. German Marcus Ehning, Brazilian Yuri Mansur and Briton Matthew Sampson are expected to complete the list of world top 100 members expected on the Opal Coast. Marcus Ehning is part of the very select group of three-time winners of the Longines World Cup Final, which he won in Las Vegas in 2003, Kuala Lumpur in 2006 and Geneva in 2010. At fifty-one years old, the centaur remains a benchmark in terms of technical excellence. Yuri Mansur, who represented Brazil at the 2021 Tokyo and 2024 Olympics, is coming off an eleventh-place finish in the World Cup final. As for Matthew Sampson, he will find a trail he knows well. A team silver medalist at the last Longines European Championships in La Coruña, the thirty-five-year-old rider finished third in the Grand Prix du Touquet last year on Médoc de Toxandria. Besides Nina Mallevaey, France will be represented by Nicolas Delmotte, Bilal Zaryouh, William Ligier de la Prade, Juliette Faligot, Titouan Schumacher and also by the young Touquet native Véra Desutter. Seeing such riders choose Le Touquet rewards the work of the GRANDPRIX Events teams, who rely on an extraordinary setting on the English Channel coast, continuously improved infrastructure and loyal public and private partners. Led by the City of Touquet-Paris-Plage, a major renovation has just extended the paddock to 6.000m2 and equipped it with a sub-irrigation system, like the largest European equestrian facilities. In three editions, Le Touquet Classic has established itself as a major event on the spring calendar in Europe. The competitions will be overseen by top-level officials, starting with Cédric Longis, an international course designer whose demanding and highly legible signature is appreciated by both riders and the public. With just two weeks to go until this 2026 edition, everything points to four days of great sport. As always, access to the Equestrian Park will be free and open to the public. See you from Thursday 7th to Sunday 10th May in Pas-de-Calais.
